Exhibition at ‘Contemporary Outsider Art REAL’

Showed work at the ‘Contemporary Outsider Art REAL -What Comes Next for Contemporary Art?-’ exhibition held at GYRE GALLERY in GYRE Omotesando.
Outsider art is art produced by those who have not had proper art training, and in Japan, generally refers to art by people with disabilities.
The exhibition, which showcased 65 artists with disabilities, was personally selected and curated by FOSTER Inc. CEO and I’m Inc. consultant Shino Sugimoto.

It was the first time Coco had seen GAKU’s work alongside other artists with disabilities, but she felt that GAKU’s art was full of positive and happy energy and stood out from the others.
GAKU’s piece sold at the reception party held before the opening.

“I just instinctively felt that I absolutely had to buy this piece,” the buyer said excitingly.

現代アウトサイダーアートリアルに出展

表参道のファッション複合ビル「ジャイル（GYRE）」内の「ジャイル ギャラリー（GYRE GALLERY）」で開催された、「現代 アウトサイダーアート リアル ―現代美術の先にあるもの―」に出展。
アウトサイダーアートとは、芸術知識を学んでいない人たちによる作品のことをいい、日本では障害者による芸術を指すのが一般的だ。
（株）FOSTER代表であり、アイムの顧問も務める杉本志乃が、自らの足で探してきた日本中の65名の障害者アートを一堂に会した。

Cocoにとって、さまざまな障害者の方々の作品と交えてGAKUの絵を見る機会ははじめてであったが、同じ障害者アートの中でも、とりわけポジティブでハッピーなパワーを発しているGAKUの絵は、ほかの作品と一線を画していた。
開催前日のレセプションパーティーの場で、作品が売れてしまった。
その時購入した人は「直感でこの絵を買わなければいけないと思った」と興奮していた。
